The Luzerne and Susquehanna Railway Company (LSX) operates over 60 miles of track in northeastern Pennsylvania in and around Wilkes Barre and Scranton. The LSX leases its property from the Luzerne County Redevelopment Authority under a multi-year operating agreement.

Traffic on the LSX has grown from approximately 450 cars annually in 1994 to over 1800 carloads in 2009. It is anticipated that the car loadings for 2010 will exceed 4000.

The LXS interchanges with Norfolk Southern (via haulage over regional railroad Reading & Northern) and the Delaware & Hudson Railway (CP Rail).

LSX utilizes 4 locomotives and 7 employees to operate and maintain this line.

LSX shares administrative offices and staff with the Owego Harford Railway, Inc. Meridian Southern Railway, LLC, and Lehigh Railway LLC in Owego, NY.
